Last week we looked at what the term ‘finishing’ meant for print products, this week we will look at some of the options you have for the most commonly used item – the business card.
Plastic cards are still a popular item and they are often associated with certain types of trades like builders or ones where the handling of a card could be rougher than most. They are certainly not easy to destroy!
If you still like the look and feel of the ‘card’ business card then some of the options available to make them that bit more special are, gloss or matt lamination, soft touch ,spot UV, digital embossing, foiling and debossing.
So what’s the difference between soft touch and matt lamination? Well as the name suggests the soft touch has an even silkier feeling and when combined with digital embossing which is a shiny gloss finish that lifts off the page, the contrast really is something.
